UNICOT trained 40 community members, especially women, to produce renewable energy from waste materials. These trainers now promote sustainable energy practices and help reduce deforestation through alternative fuel sources.

UNICOT trained over 50 subsistence farmers in Kawale to produce organic fertilizer using urine, ash, and maize bran. Demonstration plots proved increased soil fertility and reduced dependence on harsh chemical fertilizers.

In December 2021, UNICOT planted 3,800 donated tree seedlings at Malingunde Primary School, involving local leaders, teachers, and 500 pupils. This effort combats deforestation, reduces flooding risk, and improves environmental resilience.

On 1 November 2021, UNICOT supported the national Earth Walk campaign with running, cycling, and walking activities contributing to the 40,000km global movement ahead of COP26. Over 300 people participated, raising awareness on climate justice.

On 22 September 2021, UNICOT collaborated with government and environmental organizations to conduct a World Cleanup Day event. Over 80 participants collected and sorted waste along the Lingadzi River, reducing flooding risk and protecting wildlife habitats within the Lilongwe Wildlife Center.
