Waste Management Education and Awareness – Kawale Community

On 28 March 2023, UNICOT assessed waste management knowledge among 60 households near Lilongwe River and 40 market vendors in Kawale. Findings showed that 80% of households and 90% of vendors lacked awareness of sustainable waste management practices. UNICOT is working on innovations to reduce waste, improve sanitation, and mitigate flood risks.
